Corruption

Every month I watch a debate kind of program on television about corruption. The reason I see is very natural for all kind of corruptions, though I believe there is no class of corruption except the scale on a single line which appears to having many branches like a tree.

The most obvious reason is the lack of fear because the corrupt people share a very strong bonding among themselves and they know that there are good chances to escape and accumulate a large sum of money if things are done is a mutual sharing basis. Instead of looking at the vastness of this big tree and counting its branches, we should look the main trunk and the root which gives nourishment to such trees.

The system is the soil which provides the base for the tree. I do not believe that system should be removed but it can be made more efficient. The large scale of money deposited in the Swiss bank and who knows..how many banks? shows a great scale of corruption at so many stages. Corruption has been used as a political tool for self interest from ages. There is no way that you can leave the corruption out of politics. The only way is you can keep money out of it. Because, the main objective to get money. Until unless, we keep a watch on the bank accounts of every citizen of India, there is no way you can remove it. There can be solutions to this issue. The basic thing which runs in this system is money. And we must have to keep a check on the flow of this money to keep things in control. This way we keep check on the bank accounts of the employees of the government.

The other thing which I would like to put in place isacceptance of merit. Until unless, education is provided free of cost to all children, this can not implemented. Education should be provided free of cost to all children of the country without any differences of class, creed and religion. The government can put education tax on working class for investing in future of the country . The education should be free of cost at primary level till class 12. Teachers should be given the prime most respect in society. And all the teachers should be made government servant and they must come from the test of eligibility. A student will have no religion, no caste, no creed. There will be no tuition fee. The budget of India will take care it. Once the child is out of class 12th, he can take a merit based exam and depending upon his merit he will be given scholarship and sponsorship for the fee which will be very transparent. The income of parent will then come into picture. The less income parent will get subsidy from the government. This way we will share the burden of parents for the primary education. The parents can save money for the higher studies of their children. This way educational system can be cleaned.

If these measures are taken, I am sure we can counter corruption at a very high scale.

The Merger and Acquisition

Today, I took a break to listen the CEO of my company, who in town hall meeting held a conference to announce acquisition of my company by a very big Japanese Company. The parent company seems to be worth more than 100 billion dollars. The immediate parent seems to be around 14 billion dollars.

The mergers and acquisitions are not a new thing to me. It should be noted that I joined a 100 million company which was dreaming to become 1 billion with the backing of a very large bank which has helped my company to acquire very small size companies and increase the foot print before. In a sudden rush, we got a news in 2007 that our 100 million company has acquired a 1 billion company. Therefore, I was part of 1 billion company in a very short span of time. The jump was 10 times. Then a twist came and it was named the great recession. I saw and understood the whole idea of business. I saw lots of fall out and more number of acquisitions than any one will see around. Even, my US bank was also acquired by a bigger bank. Now, my employer has again announced, but this time getting 100% acquired by a 14 times bigger company. Ha ha...what sense it make to me. Probably, my brand value is increasing. I am not sure. My grandfather company is 100 times bigger than my employer and has nearly around 5 times more employees also. Thus, now I am swimming in big sea where a small area is known as my current employer. By nature of law, if you are not a big fish you will be eaten and digested and dumped. That's the bitter truth.

What should be my next stand? Although, my company has become 10 times in reality and 1000 times virtually. I have to match this in my worth. Thus, my net worth should visually look 10 times and 1000 folds virtually. :) Let's see.

Why Gandhi is hero of the world even today?

The simple reason I see Gandhi as a hero of the world is because it was his vision which is taking shape in India now during post independence era since last 67 years , and the whole world is looking towards India because of its growth potential and resilience.

It has been predicted that per capita income of India will be in par with US and Europe around 2047-48 with an assumption of no war and calamities .ie. 100 years from its independence India will be in the line of top countries of the world. Gandhi would be very happy if he would have been alive.

Perhaps, I will be retiring that time and probably my children will be taking my place. I can not imagine the life I would be in after 40 years. It is interesting that I have found my first white hair just 10 days back. :)

I know I have a long way to go. People who are successful today would rich the top slots very fast, may be I will be the last but when I would reach at the place, I want to show this world that Gandhigiri is the best policy. I am inspired by Gandhi also, but the principle I follow is of Krishna because Gandhi took inspiation from my idol too. I would like to put Bhagwat Gita as source of my inspiration just like Gandhi and will stick Gandhian Principles of non violence till my last breath. While Krishna is my youth icon, Gandhi is my guts who teaches me opractically what is tolerance and power of non-voilence. He is my hero too.

The three questions which Obama put to the Indian youth

I saw it live till 2:30 am here. I liked the way he approached and tackled the tough questions.
But before taking question he asked three questions to Indian youth in St Xavier College, Mumbai:
1. How do you see America-India relationship in next 20 years?
2. How do you see yourself doing next 20 years?
3. How do you see yourself working for India in next 20 years?

Above may not be the exact words he used but the point that he wanted to urge to the youth was to think in terms of long term. That was very inspiring.

It is very important to work keeping your long term plan in mind with your short term goals. No two people in this world will have same fate on earth and thus, I believe if you have nothing at the first sight to choose then, it is awesome to look for what you want to0 do from a state called zero. :)
Everything you will claim then would only be positive. This thought itself is self motivating. Always remember that you are not going to lose anything. You came alone with empty hands and you would go with lots of memories for a new start again.:) So, nothing is permanent. Give your best.

What new I observed today

The most unforgettable moment of today which I would like to put in my memory pages: An Indian cute little kid was playing with his friend, who was a Korean girl with very different face and tone. While walking in the evening, I noticed them playing near pavement. They raced, talked, discussed and then again discussed, raced. The best part was they were just trying to discover new games. I liked their innocent fast talking. I enjoyed. I mean, they were thinking on the spot. I believe, that's how you learn faster, by discussing, talking, spending time together.

Then suddenly, I realized that I should walk more. I saw two brothers walking with their mother. The younger one, I remember him (that 5 years old kiddu) is a very good swimmer. Actually, I learn t swimming by watching him only. Suddenly, I realized that most of the things which I have learn t and using (which works always) are either from my childhood or I have learnt it from some kid for sure. I mean most of them. I feel being a kid again. :)
