Just few minutes back, I was reading an article from "The Times of India" in which the wrote about a survey about "what do today people think about Independence?" and what is the true meaning of independence from their point of view. Well, most of the people answered only for themselves. Individual freedom is not the "Swatantrata" true meaning.
Let's understand it from my perspective. The word independence does not sound too appealing to me than word "swatantrata" itself.
swa+tantrata = swatantrata...when you have your own system (tantra) for you, that means swantantra. Today, I see greed had replaced the true spirit of country. The people who are dedicated are never shown the ladder. The problem lies in the education system of India and a generation of people who are mentally not grown up to do politics of international standards.
The lack of 2nd vision and foresight can be easily seen in the system. The people of India have no person who can give them a new hope. Everyone is busy in filling his bank account and they have a day to praise old generation who gave everything for country.This day is known as Swatantrata Divas. Remembering those people has no effect until the teachers can teach the true thoughts in Indian students. The Indian student goes to school for laddos and snacks on independence day. This is how we build patriots and future of country.
The teachers of Indian Education system are responsible for such a degraded politics of India where the same problems are repeated in the speech of PM every year what actually changes is the new "Yojnas". The new one takes the place of the old ones.. India needs teachers and not insects who just ruin mind of students. India needs seeds of good thoughts in those young mind right in their childhood who do not trust their own tradition and culture and are more exposed to television for their vision. We need a real farmer who can cultivate Indians. Today, TV has replaced teachers and if this is true then, it is very essential that parents should understand what is the impact of it on their children.
Their is no machine better than human mind. It is very essential that a mind should be run for a cause for welfare of society as its main objective. This mind learns from the 5 senses and it should be shown the right things.
My simple objective of this article was to expose the weakness of our thinking pattern which simply copies the system of other countries because the seed of this inferiority has been sown in our minds by our so called teachers and politicians (they are also teacher) long ago in our educational system. By following someone you can only become a follower (good or bad) but if you want to be leader you have to show everyone the right path which is the prime responsibility of a teacher. A teacher can be parents (during first 5 years), school teachers (next 15 years) and politicians (after 20...). It can also be the newspapers (during your whole life) or the television. The goal should be you need a better world and it should be free.
Remember always your five senses are your own teachers provided by Nature. You have a mind to perceive. In this way, you are your won teacher and ruler. First, you have to understand that these teachers are good for you and they are showing you a good path. Once you know that you are on the right track, these teachers will keep you guided from wrong things with the help of your mind. When the decisions start coming naturally to you, you are "swatantrata" in true sense.
After applying the same concept on different layers, like from individual level to family level, from family level to society level and then from society level to national level you can multiply the scope of this "swatantrata". When growth comes naturally to you this is what should be understood as Swatantrata., the real meaning of Independence.
